Official Clinics

COVID and a number of referees recently leaving the Bow Valley has caused an even greater need for referees for the upcoming season than in previous years. We’d love to have any interested players and parents come out and learn what it takes to get involved. Your contributions at every level have a compounding effect, making more experienced referees available for higher level games. Every person out skating is valuable and appreciated. If we can get 20 new people to come out and do 3-5 games through the whole season, it would have huge impact. We’d love to have every seat at our upcoming two clinics filled and hope you will consider attending.

Canmore - Saturday October 2, 2021:

Register as Level 1 if you’ll be 12-15, or register as Level 2 if you’ll be 16 or 17 in the 2021-22 season.

Use this link if you’ll be 18 years of age or older in the 2021-22 hockey season.

NOTE: If you’re not registered to play minor hockey or coach, make sure you add the “Hockey Canada Insurance” option, as it is mandatory to have and will save you a headache later.

The Canmore referee clinic is coming up right away. Please get signed up ASAP if you plan on officiating in the coming season so we have a good idea of numbers. Registration has in the past closed a week before the clinic, which means the window to get signed up for the Canmore clinic is quite short so don't delay! Register today!

Banff - Sunday November 7, 2021:

Detailed instructions on how to sign-up can be found here: https://officials.hockeyalberta.ca/clinics-registration/

Rates for referees can be reviewed on the Hockey Alberta website and all rates are split between 2 officials. Being a referee is a very flexible way to generate a little bonus cash, plus it's fun and gets you out on the ice!
