Calling all 13+ players, coaches, parents, and community members!!
Canmore Minor Hockey is hosting a two-night Levels 1 and 2 Officials clinic on November 23rd AND 24th at the Canmore Recreation Centre. We would love to see some of our older players discover the world of officiating (this includes all referees that completed the course last season and need to renew this season). We are also is in need of some adults to help us round out our pool of officials, so please help us spread the word!
What to do before the clinic? Read through Hockey Alberta's "Become an Official". And please ensure you use the appropriate link below for your age when registering for the clinic. If you are taking the course for the first time, you will need to complete the online portion prior to the clinic. Here is the link to complete HU-Online Officiating 1/2
Canmore - Wednesday November 23 and Thursday November 24:
*All officials 19 years and older need to complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) to register for this officials clinic. Only CRC’s done through www.backcheck.net/hockeyalberta will be accepted. Each CRC is good for three years, unless otherwise notified.
NOTE: If you’re not registered to play minor hockey or coach, make sure you add the “Hockey Canada Insurance” option, as it is mandatory to have and will save you a headache later.
Please get signed up ASAP if you plan on officiating. Registration has in the past closed a week before the clinic, which means the window to get signed up for the Canmore clinic is quite short so don't delay, Register today!
Rates for referees can be reviewed on the Hockey Alberta website and all rates are split between 2 officials. Being a referee is a very flexible way to generate a little bonus cash, plus it's fun and gets you out on the ice!
