Respect in Sport

Hockey Alberta has extended all valid RESPECT IN SPORT - PARENT and ACTIVITY LEADER CERTIFICATIONS by one year. This change is reflected in the Hockey Canada Registry only and not in the individual's Respect in Sport account as it is specific to Hockey Alberta only. Therefore, if Respect in Sport was taken in 2017, the expiry date is now May 1, 2022 and re-certification for the 2021-2022 season will no longer be required.

The Respect in Sport Parent Program helps define a standard of behaviour for all parents and create a more rewarding, safe and respectful environment for everyone involved. Parents want to do a great job supporting their kids and the Respect in Sport program provides parents with the tools to do just that.

The Respect in Sport Activity Leader/Coach Program educates coaches and activity leaders to recognize, understand and respond to issues of bullying, abuse, harassment and discrimination. It may be the single most important training leaders receive to assist in creating a safe, healthy and respectful environment for all participants.
**Coaches/Managers/Bench staff are responsible to completing and paying for this course but the fees will be reimbursed by the association.  Please submit your receipts to your new team manager.
